Spencer is played by Gabrielle Christian. Spencer's been through a lot the past few years. Her family uprooted from their small-town, Midwestern home and moved to Los Angeles. She met the dark, jaded Ashley Davies, practically her opposite, but somehow their friendship turned into a romance. As Spencer figured out that she was gay, it wasn't long before her family did too. Her mom and brother Glen struggled to understand it, but they finally began accept and support her. Now, with the murder of her brother Clay and her relationship with Ashley falling apart, Spencer continues on, hopeful, bright eyed and excited for the possibilities that lie in the future. |

Later, she finds that he was murdered when the crime scene investigators question her and her boyfriend. Realizing they are prime suspects, she gives details regarding her non-existent relationship to the deceased, revealing that he did come up to the room but they were interrupted when her boyfriend returned and threw him out. |

Gabrille Christian plays a character in the original version of the 'How to Save a Life' video by The Fray. A fan of South of Nowhere had created a fan music video which the producers saw on YouTube. They approached the cast of South and asked them if they would like to be in the video. Gabrielle and Matt Cohen ended up being in it. Mandy Musgrave and Valery Ortiz unfortunatley were filming scenes for South and couldn't appear. |
